Towns Added as Master Agent Channel Manager

July 09, 2010

The key to driving excellent customer service is in employing excellent customer service representatives. This is a strategic initiative for master agent Telecom Brokerage (News - Alert) Inc. (TBI) and to continue to drive excellence in customer service, the company has once again expanded its national channel manager division, naming Jerry Towns as a new channel manager.

TBI Senior Vice President Ken Mercer noted that the role of a national channel manager is to recruit, support and build strong relationships with sub agents, regionally and based on past relationships. Towns is a proven revenue generator in all market conditions through individual direct sales efforts or in-direct sales efforts and his addition to TBI is expected to deliver measurable gains.

With key channel managers in place, TBI can support its agents to ensure they remain loyal. At the same time, the environment created by TBI allows for the creation of personal relationships between agents and the channel manager that may not have existed in the past.

With more than 19 years experience in the telecommunications industry, Towns is skilled in direct sales negotiations with C-level executives within companies of all sizes. He has a demonstrated ability to build new territories and turn around under-performing operations and accounts, as well as cross-selling within enterprises.

In addition, Towns has a successful track record of over achievement as an individual performer, director of sales, sales manager, channel sales manager and business development manager. He has a B.S. in business and finance from Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmetsburg, Md.

Towns said he comes on board TBI with the intention of building a successful east coast presence for the company. He noted he is excited to come on board with TBI as he knows a lot about the company and how highly respected TBI is throughout the industry.

In other TBI news, the company announced in March took part in the ADTRAN (News - Alert) YOUunified tour. ADTRAN set out to personalize unified communications by bringing together employees, customers, vendors, partners and all necessary players to make business communications work.
