Synnex Becomes Comcast Master Agent
September 02, 2013
Large multiple system operators (MSOs) are making a strong push to capture the business services market around the country. In 2012, cable operators grabbed more than 25 percent of the US Ethernet market services, with Comcast (News - Alert) making the biggest gains. The company has been signing contracts with many established business in cities across the country with its Comcast Business Ethernet suite of services. It offers high-performance point-to-point and multi-point Ethernet services with the capacity to deliver cloud computing, software-as-a-service, business continuity/disaster recovery and other bandwidth-intensive applications.
As the quality and reliability of the services Comcast provides increases in popularity, resellers want to offer the products to their customers. SYNNEX (News - Alert) Corporation, a business process services company servicing resellers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), has signed on as a Comcast Business master agent to start offering the carrier's Ethernet, Internet, voice, cloud and TV solutions through its MobilitySolv group to IT channel partners. This makes Synnex the first IT distributor to gain master status agent from Comcast.
MobilitySolv provides end-to-end mobility and connectivity products and services to organizations so they can deploy mobility solutions that are scalable, secure, robust and easily manageable, while providing competitive price points with guaranteed availability for mission-critical applications. The Comcast suite of services will be integrated into MobilitySolv.
"Comcast's large national footprint of connectivity solutions along with their hosted voice and video solutions provide a natural complement to the needs of Synnex customers. By offering these services, our VARs can now provide a singular source to the end user — a true differentiator which allows them to grow their recurring revenues at an accelerated pace," said Kevin Murai, Synnex president and chief executive officer.
With this agreement, Synnex will be able to create bundled solutions for its customers using Comsta's network connectivity services with the distributors LAN switches, routers, servers, security products, storage and mobility products to help value added resellers (VARs) offer a comprehensive mobility and communications solution.
Synnex will provide dedicated sales and support staff to 39 states and the District of Columbia as well as 20 major US metropolitan markets where Comcast is located. This partnership gives Comcast access to the network of SMB-focused partners selling network connectivity services Synnex controls.
"VAR partners are selling network connectivity services in greater numbers than at any time in history due to the rapid adoption of cloud services by small and medium sized businesses. Synnex has an impressive reach into this community and the dedicated networking practice that they have built to support Comcast Business will be able to support a large number of VARs and their end-user customers in the Comcast national footprint," said Terry Connell, Comcast Business senior sales vice president.
